About this product

A patent-pending seat attachment with 360-degree locking rotation, made for 3x3 uprights. It gives you a proper seated position for lat pulldowns, seated rows and other cable work without pulling a full bench into the rack, and it stows on the frame between sets.

  • 360-degree rotation locking into four positions
  • Fits 3x3 inch uprights with 25mm holes — the C10, C20 and Functional Trainer Rack
  • Centre-mount capable for pulldowns and rows off the centre cable stations
  • Takes far less space than a bench and stays on the rack
  • 16.5kg

Please read before ordering: owners consistently report that above roughly 45kg per stack the seat can lift off its bottom locating peg during pulldowns, because that peg is not threaded like the top one. If you pull heavier than that, this is worth knowing before you buy — see the FAQs and the reviews below.

Delivery: ships by courier at 16.5kg.

Is it secure under heavy weight?

This is the one thing to know before ordering. The seat mounts with a threaded pin at the top and a plain locating peg at the bottom. Above roughly 45kg (100lb) per stack, several owners report the bottom peg starting to lift out of the upright as they come up from a lat pulldown, because nothing threads it in place. It does not come away, but it moves, and it makes heavy pulldowns less effective. Three of the nine reviews on Force USA's own site raise it independently. If you pull heavier than about 45kg, factor that in — for lighter cable work and seated rows most owners rate it very highly.

Which racks does it fit?

It is built for 3x3 inch uprights with 25mm holes, which covers the Force USA C10, C20 and Functional Trainer Rack. It is sized to metric 3x3, so it will not necessarily drop straight onto an imperial 3x3 rack from another brand without modification. If you are fitting it to something other than a Force USA rack, check your upright and hole sizes first, or get in touch and we will help you work it out.

Why use this instead of a bench?

Space and speed. It mounts to the rack and stays there, so you are not dragging a bench in and out for every set of pulldowns or rows, and it takes up no floor space when you are not on it. The rotation also lets you turn to face the cable you are using rather than repositioning a bench.

How does it arrive?

By courier rather than truck freight — at 16.5kg it is the one item in the Force USA range that is not a bulky freight item. Assembly is simple and it mounts to the rack in a few minutes.

  • Must have

I finally got it and I love it. Doing back exercises with this is so much more fluid now, and it puts my body in the right position. It creates better isolation and really does feel like a commercial-grade product.

  • Convenient and sturdy

This swivel seat makes a great addition to my setup without taking up too much space. A great alternative to a full bench.

  • Best pulldown seat

The most innovative pulldown seat on the market. Well built, and the rotating feature is a first that I know of. The quality and ease of use make it great value, especially at this price.

  • Excellent attachment with one serious design flaw

I really like this attachment overall, which is why this review is frustrating to write. The seat itself is high quality, comfortable, smooth and extremely versatile, and it works with many 3x3 rack systems. Installation is simple and the finish is excellent. However there is one major design flaw that becomes obvious once you start loading it up.

  • Excellent piece of kit

Well packaged with each piece individually protected. The build quality is exceptional, built like a tank. Note that this fits a metric 3x3 post — I had to make minor modifications to get it onto my imperial 3x3 half rack from another brand.

  • Great quality seat with a design flaw

Force is quality, and I bought the C20 because it is a heavy duty unit for guys like me who go heavy. As for the swivel seat — why not use two screws to hold it to the rack? The problem is that when you go heavier than 45kg on both stacks the seat lifts from the bottom peg. If it were a threaded peg like the top one, it would not.

  • A big miss

After the first use I was pleased with the quality and ease of install. However, once I increased the weight past 45kg I noticed the bottom peg starting to come out of the upright as I was coming out of the seat, because there is no threaded peg like the top. As a result lat pulldowns are not nearly as effective.

  • Pairs with the C20 seamlessly

Excellent attachment, easy to assemble, great quality, pairs with the C20 rack seamlessly. Wish it was included with the C20 — definitely needed.
