About this product

Nordic-style conditioning that loads the arms, core, hips and legs in one low-impact movement. Two independent drive cords let you pull both handles together or alternate arms, and air resistance climbs naturally with your pace — so intervals, warm-ups and full-body finishers all come off the same machine without changing a setting.

  • Two independent nylon drive cords, each running through its own pulley assembly for a consistent path every rep
  • Air resistance that responds to pulling speed and power
  • Freestanding reinforced base plate — no wall mounting or anchoring needed
  • Backlit console tracking time, average watts, calories, stroke rate, split pace, total and projected metres, rest time and completed intervals
  • Kinomap connectivity, plus wireless, Bluetooth and ANT+ heart rate support
  • Programmable targets and intervals with 10 stored workout records

Delivery & assembly: freight item at 54kg — delivered kerbside. Assembly is required but straightforward.

Does it need to be mounted to a wall?

No. It stands on its own reinforced base plate, so there is no wall mounting or anchoring to arrange. That makes it straightforward in a garage or a rented space where you cannot drill into the structure.

How does it compare to a Concept2 SkiErg?

It is a different machine at a significantly lower price, and owners who have used both are consistent about where the differences sit. The pull is not as smooth or as light as a Concept2, and the cords retract with more force on the way back up. Several owners find that fine or even prefer it for HIIT and Hyrox-style intervals; a couple who do long endurance sessions have said they would choose the Concept2 for that. If you are training for distance work at pace, it is worth knowing that before you order.

What does the console show, and what does it connect to?

Time, average watts, calories, stroke rate, split pace, total and projected metres, rest time and completed intervals, on a backlit display running off two D-cell batteries. It connects to Kinomap and pairs with wireless, Bluetooth or ANT+ heart rate straps, and stores up to 10 workout records. iConsole is not supported.

Do I have to assemble it myself?

Yes, and owners describe it as easy — most have it together without help. The base plate is the heavy part, so have somewhere clear to work.

How is it delivered, and what does freight cost?

It ships at 54kg by truck freight rather than courier, so it is not covered by our free shipping over $70. Freight is calculated on weight and delivery address and shown at checkout before you pay. Allow 1 to 2 weeks, and longer again for rural addresses. Delivery is kerbside.

  • Great ski trainer

We run a workout and fitness facility. This has been a terrific addition. It is smooth and well built.

  • Great service and equipment

If any issues come up they will make it right. I had an issue with the equipment and within a few emails a new one was on the way. The machine is great.

  • Works great

Everything is working just great. One of the best workouts you can do is the ski trainer.

  • Well built and works great

Easy to assemble, looks and works great. Four stars because the ropes retract back very strongly — I have been trying to adjust it but it is either too strong or too weak.

  • Really enjoying it

Really enjoying my Force ski trainer. A great bit of kit for the garage gym, especially at the price point.

  • Top notch

Just as good as the Concept2 and I love it for my studio. Great to use in HIIT sessions, gets used a lot and still in great condition a year on.

  • Good, but not great

Quality machine. However, if you have used a Concept2, this machine's resistance is significantly different. If all you want is HIIT training this ski trainer will be great. If you are looking for longer endurance sessions, I would not buy this machine.

  • Needs improvement

This machine could be amazing but there are two areas that need improvement. The cables slip and have a crunching feeling on the way down, and the stroke length needs another 15 to 20cm — I am not able to get a full stroke down. The cables also pull themselves back up with more resistance than other ski machines, though that is a personal preference and others may like it.

  • Adequate and affordable

We bought this because we are preparing for a Hyrox race. We chose this brand instead of the Concept2 based on the price difference. It is not as smooth or as easy to pull as the Concept2, however it is just as effective and reliable, while making you use additional force and strength to compensate for the workload and output.

  • Solid piece of equipment
