About this product

The patent-pending Sliding Bench is the attachment that turns a C10 or C20 into a full lower-body machine. It combines five stations in one — leg press, hack squat, leg curl, leg extension and preacher curl — all cable-connected straight to the trainer's weight stacks, so there are no plates to load.

  • Fits the Force USA C10 and C20 only — they are the models with the dual cable connection points that drive it
  • Up to 272kg (600lb) of resistance through the lower centre cable system
  • 56cm (22 inch) diamond-plated footplate and shoulder pads built for heavy leg work
  • 450kg (992lb) weight rating flat; 150kg (330lb) on the sliding stations
  • Flat, incline or stored upright against the wall when you are not using it
  • 75.7kg — it is a substantial piece of equipment, not a standard bench

Not included — please read before ordering: this is an attachment, not a standalone machine. The Force USA C10 or C20 trainer is not included and must be purchased separately. The Sliding Bench runs off that trainer's weight stacks, so it will not work on its own, and it does not fit other models. Photos on this page show it fitted to a trainer that is sold separately.

Which machines does it work with?

The Force USA C10 and C20 All-In-One Trainers only. Those are the models with the dual cable connection points linked to the weight stacks that make the Sliding Bench work. It will not run on the G4, the Functional Trainer Rack, or any other rack — and it is not a standalone bench, so please do not order it unless you have a C10 or C20.

Do I need weight plates for it?

No. Every station runs off your trainer's integrated weight stacks through the cables, so there is nothing to load. Connected through the lower centre cable system it delivers up to 272kg (600lb) of resistance, which is well beyond what most people will leg press.

How much space does it need?

The bench is 174cm long and 68.6cm wide — noticeably longer than a standard weight bench. Fitted to a C20 the combined footprint is about 325cm deep rather than 167.6cm, so measure the run of floor in front of your trainer before ordering. It stores upright against a wall between sessions, which is how most owners keep the floor clear.

Do I have to assemble it myself?

Yes, assembly is not included. It is a 76kg unit and owners consistently report that the printed instructions are the weak point — diagrams without written steps, and parts that are not clearly labelled. Allow more time than you would expect for a bench, and a second set of hands. The components themselves are well made and fit together properly once you have worked out the order.

Is anything worth knowing before I buy?

Two things come up repeatedly in owner reviews and are worth knowing rather than discovering. First, switching between stations means swapping the connection cable, which takes a moment each time — it is the trade-off for getting five machines out of one bench. Second, a number of owners note a small amount of side-to-side movement in the sliding carriage under load. Most are still happy with it, but if you want a rock-solid dedicated flat bench for heavy pressing, a standard bench alongside it is a reasonable call. The reviews further down this page are worth reading in full.

How is it delivered, and what does freight cost?

The Sliding Bench ships at 76kg by truck freight rather than courier, so it is not covered by our free shipping over $70. Freight is calculated on weight and delivery address and shown at checkout before you pay. Allow 1 to 2 weeks, and longer again for rural addresses. Delivery is kerbside. If you are ordering it alongside a C10 or C20, tell us and we will freight them together.

  • Great machine, lighter than I expected

I have enjoyed everything about this machine. As far as the cables go, they are easy and do not take long — much quicker than taking plates off and on. I love that the seat slides back and forth when you want it to, which makes presses easy. I have no regrets with this bench. I was prepared to buy another one just for benching, and this does it all.

  • Difficult to adjust

It would be nicer if it were easier to change over or adjust settings between users.

  • A little wobbly

It wobbles a little side to side where it slides.

  • Well built, with a learning curve

The bench is well-built and designed. It is also a bit heavy as benches go, and sometimes tedious to keep moving around if you are in a small space like a single-car garage. Expect a learning curve to get used to using the bench with the cabling correctly, and to know when the horizontal stabiliser bar is needed, but it does get easier as you go. I wish there were side handles to hold for leg press and to help you rise up after a tough set of hack squats. Only the lack of handles for older folks takes it to 4 out of 5 — it is still the best bench I could find overall.

  • Great, high quality

Solid piece of equipment. Swapping out the cables was not something I expected, and it is longer than a standard weight bench. In a tight space I would have gone with a standard bench. The length is necessary for everything it includes, but I wish there were a way to avoid swapping the cable depending on which function you are using.

  • Grab a beer if you are assembling it yourself

My husband and I spent a while assembling this bench. The parts are well made. The instruction manual leaves quite a bit to be desired — there are numbered parts in diagrams and arrows, but no written instructions, so we had to interpret and double check. The hardware quantities were off in several steps too. Overall quality is great, and the multiple uses of this bench make it a great value.

  • Not for me

It is heavy and hard to set up the first time. The cable system is complicated — three different cables attached to it that have to be removed and replaced to make it work for different workouts. The leg extension is not worth the time to change it out and the preacher curl is the same. Building it was a mess, none of the parts are labelled. And it is wobbly.

  • Great addition to the C10

Works great, I use it regularly.

  • Very impressed

Been using the sliding bench for a month now and I am very impressed with the precision of the machining and the way the pieces fit together. I weigh 109kg and have used it for hack squats, leg press, bench press, preacher curls and leg extensions. I also stand on it when changing accessories on the upper cables. It has performed flawlessly and the slide mechanism is very smooth.
