SEE THE DIFFERENCE
Corner-friendly design
A half rack that fits in the corner
The FTR puts a functional trainer, a half rack, a pull-up bar and a suspension anchor into one compact chassis built to sit in a corner rather than eat the middle of the room.
That is the whole point of it: most people building a garage gym run out of floor before they run out of ideas.
One frame, one footprint, and the car still fits.
Freestyle pulley arms
Up, down and side to side
The pulley arms move vertically on reversible cable trolleys and articulate side to side, so the cable line follows the movement instead of fighting it.
Resistance runs at 2:1 through polished aluminium pulleys — aluminium, not moulded plastic, which is why the action stays smooth after a few thousand reps.
It is the part owners keep mentioning: it feels like a commercial cable station, not a home one.
Dual weight stacks
91kg a side, upgradeable to 136kg
Two independent 91kg (200lb) stacks come as standard, and each one takes an upgrade to 113kg (250lb) or 136kg (300lb).
Each stack also carries 2.3kg (5lb) fractional plates at the top, so you can find the increments between the 4.5kg (10lb) plates instead of jumping a full plate and stalling.
Stack numbers are laser-cut inside and out, so you can read your pin position from either side.
3x3 uprights
11-gauge steel, 1 inch holes
The uprights are 3x3 inch, 11-gauge steel with 1 inch holes on 2 inch spacing — rack specification, not trainer specification.
That is what lets the FTR take hybrid J-hooks and quick-lock spotter arms and be squatted in with confidence, rather than being a cable machine with a bar rest bolted on.
Owners consistently describe it as having zero give under load.
Pull-up and suspension
The bar overhead is part of the deal
A full-width pull-up bar runs across the top of the frame, with a suspension anchor built in for straps, bands and anything else you want to hang off it.
You need 239cm (94in) of ceiling to get a full chin-up under it — worth measuring before you order, because that is the one dimension you cannot work around.
Storage is built into the frame too: pegboard, barbell holder and a recessed shelf keep the attachments off the floor.

About this product
A commercial-rated half rack with a dual-column functional trainer built into the uprights. At 408kg it is a genuinely heavy, gym-grade frame, but at 124.5cm wide it occupies barely more floor space than a standard rack — which makes it the pick when you want serious cable work without giving up a second footprint.
Commercial usage rating, 3x3 inch 11-gauge uprights with 1 inch holes at 2 inch spacing
Freestyle pulley arms on reversible cable trolleys — they move up, down and side to side

2:1 pulley ratio through polished aluminium pulleys
5mm nylon-coated mil-spec aircraft cable
Matte black electrostatic finish with knurled touchpoints
Lowest ceiling requirement in the range — 239cm for a full chin-up

What ceiling height do I need?
The rack stands 221cm tall, and Force USA specify a minimum ceiling height of 239cm (94 inches) for a full chin-up. That is the lowest clearance requirement in the Force USA range, so it will just fit under a standard 240cm NZ ceiling with chin-ups still usable. Measure before you order and build it in its final position.
How is it delivered, and what does freight cost?
The Functional Trainer Rack ships at 458kg on a pallet by truck freight rather than courier, so it is not covered by our free shipping over $70. Freight is calculated on weight and delivery address and shown at checkout before you pay. Allow 1 to 2 weeks, and longer again for rural addresses. Delivery is kerbside, so please arrange help to move and position it.
Do I have to assemble it myself?
Yes, assembly is not included. Allow most of a day and a second set of hands. The uprights and weight stacks are heavy and awkward to lift alone. Build it where it is going to stay, because it is not practical to move once assembled.
How is this different from the C10 or C20?
This is a power rack with a functional trainer built into the uprights. It does not have a Smith machine, which is the main thing the all-in-one models add. What you get in return is the footprint. At 124.4cm wide it takes up barely more room than a standard rack, where the C10 is 195.6cm and the C20 is 195.6cm. If you want serious cable work and barbell work in a tight space, and you would rather use a free barbell than a Smith bar, this is the one.
How much cable resistance does it give?
It runs dual 90.7kg (200lb) stacks through a 2:1 pulley ratio, so you feel around 45kg of resistance per side at the handle, or roughly 90kg with both pulleys working together. That is enough for heavy rows and pulldowns for most lifters. If you want more, the stacks upgrade to 113kg (250lb) or 136kg (300lb) — order the upgrade with the rack, because fitting stacks afterwards is a much bigger job.
Does it need to be bolted to the floor?
No. At 408kg the rack is stable freestanding and does not need bolting down. It does need a level floor and room to swing the freestyle pulley arms through their range.

Dream machine for an engineer who lifts
As an aerospace engineer and someone who has been working out for 38 years, I can easily say the FTR is one of the most solid, well designed and versatile gym machines I have ever encountered. Just the fact that it has aluminium pulleys sold me on the design, as did the articulating pulley assemblies and the simplicity of the frame. The very few plastic parts are placed where they will not experience high stress. Everything else is solid metal, tolerance fit and well constructed. The versatility also allows for proper body mechanics so you can maintain correct form, something very few other functional trainers do.

Functional Trainer Rack
I have really been enjoying this rack, using it 4 to 5 times a week. The footprint is amazing and the articulating arms let me make the most of the space. It is also super firm with zero give, and the storage is nice as well. The cables and floating pulley on one side have gotten a bit twisted, although when I pull it for an exercise it straightens out and it does not seem to affect the smoothness of the pull.

Amazing rack, difficult assembly
The FTR is exactly what I wanted, commercial grade with a small footprint. It comes in two crates, extremely well packaged, with every piece bubble-wrapped and clearly labelled to the step it belongs to. Even the nuts and bolts are bagged separately for each step. The problem is the instructions. You get a picture of the parts for that step and another of what it should look like assembled, but no written instructions or order of sequence, which leaves a lot to guesswork. That meant backtracking when I realised I had installed something in the wrong order. It took me all day, and could have been half that with a decent manual. Once you finally get it done, the rack itself is phenomenal.

Love my functional trainer rack
Very well made and the cables are smooth, just like a high end commercial gym cable rack. I have had other cheaper racks and they ended up gathering dust because the cable system was poor. These do not. Highly recommend.

Solid gold
After several weeks of researching functional trainers that would meet our needs, we landed on the FTR. I am in my 60s, my wife in her 50s, and we work out vigorously but needed to mix it up with more cable work. This rack was the answer. It is solid, extremely well made, and we could not imagine our home gym without it now.

The ultimate all-in-one training system
The FTR has been a game-changer for my home gym and my coaching lifestyle. It gives me the versatility of a full training setup without taking over the entire room. From cable work and strength training to functional movements, it lets me train with purpose and stay consistent. As a transformation coach I love equipment that helps people build strength safely and with variety, and the FTR delivers. Solid, smooth, and built for serious progress.

Garage gym that finally makes sense
I have been building my garage gym for three years — rack here, cable machine there, pull-up bar mounted to the wall separately. It was a mess and I was always tripping over equipment. The FTR consolidated everything into one corner and gave me back half my garage. My car fits again. The footprint is genuinely compact for what it does, and the corner-friendly design is not just a marketing line, it actually sits flush and clean.

Impressed with it
The functional trainer rack has been a nice addition to my home gym. The quality and features are great, everything works as expected, and it looks stylish. I assembled it by myself — it takes some time and another set of hands would have helped, but it is doable solo. The assembly instructions have a few ambiguities that can lead to some backtracking, but overall are pretty easy to follow. I would recommend it to anyone who wants dual cable trolleys and articulating arms. The articulating arms make a big difference in capability and convenience.

Two machines worth of function in one machine worth of space
I was paying rent on a storage unit partly to house gym equipment that did not fit in my home. I cancelled that unit the month after the FTR arrived. It replaced a standalone cable tower and a separate half rack, and the combined footprint of those two pieces was nearly three times what the FTR takes up. My spare room is now an actual home gym with space to breathe and room to move through full cable range without bumping into anything.

Great machine, assembly is a two-person job
Four stars because the machine itself is exceptional. The frame is rock solid, the cables are smooth, and the half rack handles heavy load without any flex. The one thing I would flag clearly is do not attempt assembly solo. I tried for about an hour before calling my neighbour over. With two people it came together in a few hours and everything lined up cleanly. The hardware is organised well and the finished product is exactly what was promised.

This thing replaced four machines
I had a squat rack, a cable tower, a pull-up station and a suspension trainer setup taking up my entire garage. The FTR absorbed all of it. Half rack for barbell work, freestyle pulley arms for cable movements, built-in pull-up bar and suspension trainer compatibility, all from one footprint. The 3x3 uprights handle everything I throw at them and the 2:1 ratio keeps the cables smooth and predictable at any weight.

The freestyle arms are the real headline
I have owned a basic functional trainer before. The pulley arms on that moved in two directions and called it a day. The FTR arms move up, down and side to side on reversible trolleys, and the difference in training variety is massive. I am hitting rotational patterns, diagonal pulls and single-arm presses from angles I genuinely could not replicate on my old setup. The polished aluminium pulleys are also quieter than anything I have used before.
