National Programme 3 (NP3) Certification

NZ Muscle is registered and now certified as an NP3 Facility following the completion of a third party audit by AsureQuality. This means any food handling done on site is fully compliant. View our certification here.

Best Before Dates Printed, Not Stuck

NZ Muscle sells over 4000 skus from a whole range of well known and top selling brands. Our home brand range to date, has had stick on best before labels. Best before stickers are common in the food industry and used widely by many businesses as a common approach to labelling.

Since being raised as a potential issue, we've worked with our manufacturer and now changed from stick on best before labels to digitally printed dates directly on packaging.

As part of our commitment to quality, we have conducted third party testing across some of our NZ Muscle products.

NZ Muscle Whey Protein Source & Testing

On our NZ Muscle Whey Protein product page you can find links to various third party tests including for banned substances, protein content (Analysis Report). Information on the whey used in our NZ Muscle Whey Protein can be viewed here.

Our NZ Muscle Whey protein has been made in New Zealand by our South Island manufacturer since 2020 from grass fed whey, with now a massive 15 different flavours.

We quite simply couldn't consistently produce such great tasting whey protein without our manufacturers, who also make our plant protein, protein water, isolate protein, electrolytes, protein pancakes plus much more!

NZ Muscle Creatine Testing

NZ Muscle's Creatine is sourced in bulk from a large health and nutrition supplier. You can find creatine batch testing and third party Certificates of Analysis on the product page under batch test documents.

Voluntary Recall

Following an internal investigation, NZ Muscle Ltd voluntarily recalled two creatine products due to the possible presence of an undeclared allergen (milk). The concern was the product label did not warn people who need to avoid milk because of allergies. The affected batches were removed from sale. The recall process has also been audited.

Procedures have been reviewed with the aid of food specialists to prevent recurrence and while awaiting NP3 Certification all subsequent packing was processed with a third party manufacturer in compliant premises. 

Following the recall, Auckland Council completed an investigation and found "no evidence of critical risk" to food safety.

Reviews Defect

Recently a competitor indirectly raised an issue with the filter and display of reviews on our website. As soon as we became aware we contacted our developer for an immediate fix. Our website platform is relatively new and earlier in the year when some page templates were redesigned, a defect was introduced that affected the filtering of reviews.
